Influence of the Dietetic Custom to Periodontitis in the Capital Area of TANG Dynasty

ABSTRACT: A recent research on the human remains of Tang Dynasty excavated from Xi’an discovered that the incidence of periodontitis on the canines were much higher than that on the incisors. According to the relevant records about dietetic customs in Tang Dynasty and the etiology of periodontitis, this paper suggested that Hu cake eating custom in the capital area of Tang Dynasty had resulted in the high incidence of periodontitis on the canines.
